   Locate External Hydraulic Valve 8 on the rear hydraulic valve stack and inspect the electrical connector for dirt, moisture, corrosion, or bent pins.

   Trace the wiring harness from the valve back to the control module, looking for chafing, breaks, or pinched wires.

   Use a multimeter to check for proper voltage reaching the valve solenoid when actuated.

   Test the resistance of the solenoid coil itself to determine if it has shorted or opened.

   Depressurize the System

   Ensure the tractor is turned off and relieve all hydraulic pressure from the rear remotes before beginning work.

   Disconnect Electronics

   Unplug the electrical connector from External Hydraulic Valve 8. Clean the connector contacts with electronic contact cleaner if corrosion is present.

   Replace the Valve/Solenoid

   If the wiring is intact but the valve solenoid fails the resistance test, the electric spool slice (or its pilot pressure control solenoid) must be replaced. Unbolt the faulty spool slice from the valve stack.

   Install New Part

   Mount the replacement electric spool valve, ensuring all O-rings and seals are properly seated to prevent hydraulic leaks. Torque the mounting bolts to OEM specifications.

   Reconnect and Calibrate

   Reconnect the electrical harness. Note that some replacement electric spool slices require programming/calibration to the tractor's ECU upon installation.

   Clear Codes

   Use a compatible Massey Ferguson diagnostic tool to clear the 0A.81.12 code from the system.

   Test Operation

   Start the tractor, check for hydraulic leaks, and test the remote valve for proper operation.
