   Retrieve and Verify Codes: Use a compatible diagnostic tool (such as Jaltest or AGCO EDT) to read the ECU failure memory. Verify if the code is active or stored.

   Live Data Monitoring: Display the values of the different sensors connected to the ECU on your diagnostic screen to check the electrical draw and position sensor feedback of Valve 8.

   Visual & Electrical Inspection: Inspect the 4-pin electrical connector on the Rexroth electric spool valve for corrosion, pushed pins, or wiring harness damage.

   Symptom Check: Check for basic hydraulic issues that accompany valve failures, such as weak spool valve performance, slow loader/implement response, or a linkage that drops overnight.

   Make the Tractor Safe

   Ensure the tractor is turned off, the PTO is disengaged, and all hydraulic implements are lowered to the ground to relieve system pressure.

   Access the Valve Stack

   Locate the external hydraulic valve block (usually mounted directly on or near the rear lift cover). Identify Valve 8 in the stack.

   Disconnect Electronics

   Carefully unplug the 4-pin electrical harness connector from the faulty electronic spool valve.

   Remove the Valve

   Remove the securing bolts holding the specific spool valve section to the base plate or valve stack.

   Component Replacement/Rebuild

   If replacing: Fit the new Rexroth electric spool valve into the stack, ensuring the O-rings and standpipe are correctly seated into the hydraulic ports. If rebuilding: Install a spool valve repair kit (replacing the detents and seals).

   Reassembly

   Secure the valve to the base plate with the bolts and reconnect the 4-pin electrical harness.

   Clear Codes

   Reconnect your diagnostic tool and clear the 0A.81.20 DTC from the Remote Hydraulic Controller's memory. Test the external hydraulic function for proper operation.
