   Isolate the Circuit

   Disconnect the electrical connector at External Hydraulic Valve 8.

   Test the Solenoid

   Measure the resistance of the valve's solenoid coil. If it is out of specification or shorted, the solenoid must be replaced.

   Inspect the Spool

   If the electrical circuit and solenoid are functioning correctly, inspect the mechanical spool valve for binding, debris, or internal failure.

   Replace the Valve

   If the valve block itself is internally damaged and cannot be rebuilt, remove the hydraulic lines (be prepared to catch leaking hydraulic fluid) and unbolt the faulty valve assembly. Install the replacement valve.

   Reconnect the hydraulic lines and electrical harness. Use the diagnostic tool to clear the A.81.23 / 0A.81.23 code and operate the hydraulic remote to ensure the issue is resolved.
