   Inspect the wiring harness and electrical connector at External Hydraulic Valve 8 for corrosion, bent pins, or loose fittings

   Test the hydraulic valve solenoid for proper resistance and verify that it is receiving voltage from the tractor's harness when the valve is commanded open/closed

   Check the mechanical latching mechanism on the valve slice to ensure it is not jammed or physically damaged, which can prevent proper actuation

   Locate the Valve

   Identify External Hydraulic Valve 8 on the rear remote valve stack.

   Disconnect Electricals

   Unplug the wiring harness connector from the valve's solenoid.

   Remove the Solenoid/Valve Slice

   Depending on the diagnosis, remove the retaining hardware (often a latch kit or hex bolts) holding the solenoid or the entire valve slice to the hydraulic block.

   Replace the Component

   Install the new hydraulic valve solenoid or valve slice assembly. Ensure all O-rings are seated correctly to prevent leaks.

   Reassemble

   Reattach the retaining latch/bolts and plug the electrical connector back in.

   Clear Codes

   Use a compatible diagnostic tool or interface device to clear the A.81.2A code from the tractor's onboard diagnostic system.
