Issue description
A malfunction associated with the 8th external hydraulic remote valve, typically an electrical or electro-hydraulic fault such as a connection problem, open/short circuit in the wiring harness, failed solenoid coil, or mechanical sticking of the valve spool.

Check the cause
Verify the hydraulic fluid (UTTO) level and condition. If the fluid is dark, smells burnt, or looks milky (water contamination), it must be changed.
Inspect the wiring harness and the electrical connector at External Valve 8. Look for pinched wires, corrosion in the pins, or loose connections.
Use a multimeter to test the resistance (Ohms) of the Valve 8 solenoid coil. Compare it to a known working valve on the same block. An open circuit (infinite resistance) or a short circuit indicates a dead solenoid.
If the electrical side is sound, use a hydraulic pressure gauge on the remote coupler to see if the valve is receiving and holding pressure when manually or electronically actuated.
Repair steps
Relieve System Pressure
Lower all implements to the ground, turn off the engine, and cycle the hydraulic levers/joysticks to relieve residual pressure in the system.
Clean the Area
Thoroughly clean the external hydraulic valve block with brake cleaner to prevent dirt from entering the hydraulic system during disassembly.
Disconnect Electricals
Unplug the wiring harness connector from the Valve 8 solenoid.
Remove the Solenoid/Valve
Depending on the specific valve block design, either unbolt the solenoid coil from the valve stem or unscrew the entire electro-hydraulic cartridge valve. Have a catch pan ready, as hydraulic fluid will leak out.
Inspect the Spool
Check the valve spool and bore for metal shavings, scoring, or debris that could have caused the valve to stick.
Install the New Part
Lubricate the O-rings on the new solenoid/valve with clean hydraulic fluid and install it into the block. Tighten to the OEM torque specification.
Reassemble and Top Up
Reconnect the electrical harness. Check the tractor's hydraulic fluid level and top up with OEM-spec UTTO fluid to replace what was lost.
Clear Codes and Test
Use a compatible diagnostic tool to clear the 0A.82.21 code. Start the tractor, actuate the valve, and check for leaks and proper implement operation.
