Check the cause

  1. Check the Datatronic 5 Terminal: Navigate to the hydraulics page to verify the status, naming, and flow settings of 'Valve 8'. Ensure the valve is properly assigned and that flow parameters are not zeroed out.

  2. Inspect Connections: Inspect the wiring harness and electrical connector at the external hydraulic valve block for corrosion, backed-out pins, or wire chafing.

  3. Retrieve Active Codes: Use a compatible diagnostic tool to see if the code is active or stored, and check for accompanying codes that might indicate a broader hydraulic system failure.

Repair steps

  1. Clean area

Clean the area around the hydraulic lift cover to prevent debris from entering the system.

  2. Remove bolts

Remove the bolts securing the cap/plate on the hydraulic lift cover.

  3. Remove cap

Carefully remove the cap and detach it from the standpipe, ensuring that the standpipe is not dislodged from its seat in the hydraulic pump.

  4. Fit standpipe

If installing a new base plate or selector valve, fit the standpipe into the inlet port of the new base plate.

  5. Fit base plate

Fit the new base plate to the lift cover, ensuring the standpipe is correctly located into its seat.

  6. Secure base plate

Secure the base plate to the lift cover using the appropriate hardware.

  7. Mount control valve

Mount the new external control valve to the base plate and secure it with bolts.

  8. Reconnect components

Reconnect the hydraulic hoses (typically 3/8" BSPP ports) and the electrical solenoid connector.

  9. Test system

Test the system for leaks and verify operation via the tractor's terminal.
