Issue description

Indicates a fault within the 8th external hydraulic remote/spool valve circuit. Check the cause

  1. Inspect the solenoid connector at External Valve 8 and the wiring harness for rub points, open circuits, or poor ground integrity.

  2. Test the solenoid coil resistance with a multimeter.

  3. Inspect the hydraulic oil and transmission filters for contamination or blockages that could restrict flow and cause sticky valves.

  4. Check the spool valve detents for mechanical wear, which can prevent the valve from holding position or registering correctly.

  5. Use a compatible diagnostic tool to read live measure values and perform a 'Components Actuation' test to manually trigger the Valve 8 solenoid and verify ECU communication.

Repair steps

  1. Retrieve and Clear

    Connect a diagnostic tool to the tractor's diagnostic port to confirm code 0A.8X.19 is active.

  2. Resolve Wiring Faults

    If the wiring harness to Valve 8 is damaged or shorting to the chassis, repair the wiring and replace the connector pigtail.

  3. Replace the Solenoid/Valve

    If the wiring is intact but the solenoid fails the resistance test or the valve is internally damaged/sticky, the unit must be serviced. Note on 7600/7700 Series: If the issue is mechanical detent failure, detent kits can sometimes be sourced and modified to fit, saving significant costs over replacing the complete spool valve assembly.

  4. Calibrate the New Valve

    Crucial step: If the spool valve is replaced, you must use a diagnostic tool to calibrate the new valve. The system requires you to assign the new valve the position/ID of the one that was replaced so the ECU recognizes it.

  5. Final Testing

    Clear the fault codes from the ECU memory. Run the tractor and actuate the 8th remote hydraulic circuit to ensure the code does not return and the implement responds with adequate pressure.
