Massey Ferguson AC06 – AIRCON: Cab Temperature Sensor Short Circuit
Issue description
The system has detected that the electrical circuit for the inside cab temperature sensor is shorted (likely to ground or another wire), resulting in an out-of-range voltage signal.

Check the cause
Locate the Inside Cab Temperature Sensor (typically mounted in the top right side of the fuse panel or integrated into the upper cab trim/headliner).
Visually inspect the wiring harness leading to the sensor for pinched wires, chafing against the cab frame, or melted insulation causing a short to ground.
Disconnect the sensor's electrical connector and measure the resistance across the sensor's pins with a multimeter (near 0 ohms indicates an internal short).
With the sensor unplugged, test the wiring harness side for continuity to ground to determine if the short is in the wiring harness instead of the sensor.
Repair steps
Disconnect battery
Turn off the tractor and disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent electrical spikes.
Access sensor
Remove the interior trim panel or fuse panel cover to access the sensor mounting location.
Unplug sensor
Depress the locking tab on the electrical connector and unplug it from the sensor.
Remove sensor
Unclip or unscrew the faulty temperature sensor from its mounting bracket.
Install new sensor
Install the new OEM sensor into the bracket.
Reconnect connector
Reconnect the electrical connector, ensuring it clicks securely into place.
Reinstall cover
Reinstall the cab trim/fuse panel cover.
Clear fault code
Reconnect the battery. Turn the ignition on and use a diagnostic tool (or the tractor's onboard dashboard diagnostic menu) to clear the 10.00.06 fault code.
Test HVAC
Test the HVAC system to ensure the automatic climate control regulates the cab temperature properly.
Parts you might need
(1)Cab Temperature Sensor
71448484AThis is a standard AGCO part used across multiple Massey Ferguson and Challenger platforms for automatic climate control systems. Always verify the exact part number against your specific machine's serial number in the AGCO parts catalog before ordering, as mounting styles can occasionally vary by cab trim level.
