   Turn the temperature dial manually to check for physical binding, looseness, or a lack of resistance, which confirms the internal potentiometer is broken.

   Access the rear of the Air Conditioning Control Module and inspect the main harness connectors (X440 yellow and X439 blue) to ensure they are fully seated and free of moisture, bent pins, or corrosion.

   Use the AGCO EDT or dash interface to clear the code, cycle the key, and adjust the temperature dial. If the AC16 code immediately returns, the internal circuitry has failed and the panel must be replaced.

   Disconnect Power

   Disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent electrical shorts during module replacement.

   Remove Cab Trim

   Carefully pry off or unscrew the interior cab trim bezel surrounding the HVAC control panel on the right-hand console or B-pillar (depending on the specific tractor model).

   Extract the Module

   Remove the retaining screws securing the Air Conditioning Control Module to the console.

   Disconnect Harnesses

   Pull the module forward and disconnect the X440 (yellow) and X439 (blue) electrical connectors from the rear.

   Install New Module

   Plug the connectors into the replacement AC control panel, ensuring the locking tabs click into place.

   Reassembly

   Secure the new module with the retaining screws and snap the trim bezel back into position.

   Calibration/Testing

   Reconnect the battery. Turn the ignition on, clear the inactive AC16 fault code, and test the HVAC system to ensure the temperature dial now properly regulates the cab climate.
