Massey Ferguson B.00.01 – Mid Mount Valve Module: Loader Mid Mount Electro Valve Solenoid Open Circuit

The control module is sending a voltage signal to the solenoid that controls the mid-mount electro-hydraulic valve for the loader, but it is not detecting a complete electrical circuit in return. An "open circuit" typically points to a broken wire, a disconnected or corroded harness connector, or a completely failed (burnt out) internal coil within the solenoid itself.

   Inspect the wiring harness running from the tractor chassis to the mid-mount valve block (usually located under the right-hand side of the cab) for pinched, rubbed, or severed wires.

   Disconnect the electrical plug at the mid-mount valve solenoid and check for water ingress, dirt, pushed-back pins, or green corrosion.

   Measure the resistance across the two pins of the solenoid using a digital multimeter (expected 5 to 15 ohms; 'OL' indicates a broken internal coil).

   Check the continuity of the wiring harness from the solenoid connector back to the Mid Mount Valve Module if the solenoid tests good.

   Safety First

   Lower the loader to the ground, turn off the tractor, remove the key, and relieve all hydraulic pressure by moving the loader joystick in all directions.

   Clean the Area

   Thoroughly clean the mid-mount valve block area with brake cleaner or a rag to prevent dirt from entering the hydraulic system.

   Disconnect Wiring

   Unplug the electrical connector from the faulty solenoid.

   Remove the Solenoid

   Remove the retaining nut at the end of the valve stem and slide the solenoid coil off the stem. (Note: On some cartridge-style valves, you may need to unthread the entire cartridge).

   Install the New Solenoid

   Slide the new solenoid coil over the valve stem and tighten the retaining nut to the manufacturer's torque spec (do not overtighten, or you may crush the coil).

   Reconnect and Test

   Reconnect the electrical harness. Turn the tractor on, clear the fault codes using the dash menu or a diagnostic tool, and test the loader functions to ensure the code does not return.
