B.00.05

Massey Ferguson B.00.05 – Mid Mount Valve Module: Loader Mid Mount Electro Valve Solenoid Low Amp Draw

Issue description

The control module is detecting an abnormally low electrical current (amperage) flowing through the loader's mid-mount valve solenoid circuit. This indicates high electrical resistance, commonly caused by a loose connection, corroded wiring, a broken wire, or an internally failed (open) solenoid coil.

Check the cause

  1. Inspect the wiring harness leading to the mid-mount valve block for chafing, cuts, or pinch points that could sever the wire.

  2. Disconnect the plug at the affected loader valve solenoid and check for water ingress, dirt, or corroded/pushed-back pins.

  3. Use a digital multimeter to measure the resistance across the solenoid coil terminals (an infinite/OL reading indicates an open internal coil causing the zero/low amp draw).

  4. Back-probe the connector or use a test light to verify that the Mid Mount Valve Module is sending the correct voltage to the solenoid when the loader joystick is actuated in the cab.

Repair steps

  1. Power Down

Turn off the tractor and disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent short circuits.

  2. Locate the Valve

Locate the mid-mount electro-hydraulic valve block (typically mounted on the right side of the tractor chassis, below the cab).

  3. Disconnect

Unplug the electrical connector from the faulty solenoid.

  4. Remove Solenoid

Remove the retaining nut or snap ring at the end of the valve stem holding the solenoid coil in place.

  5. Replace

Slide the old solenoid coil off the valve cartridge. Slide the new OEM solenoid coil onto the stem.

  6. Secure

Reinstall the retaining nut/clip and tighten to the manufacturer's specification (do not overtighten, as this can distort the cartridge).

  7. Reconnect

Plug the electrical connector back in, ensuring the weather seal is intact and it clicks into place.

  8. Test

Reconnect the battery, start the tractor, clear the stored DTCs via the dash or diagnostic tool, and operate the loader joystick to confirm the fault does not return.
