Massey Ferguson B.00.10 – Mid Mount Valve Module: Loader Mid Mount Electro Valve Solenoid Open Circuit

Issue description

The tractor's diagnostic system has detected a break in the electrical circuit (an open circuit) supplying power or ground to one of the electro-hydraulic solenoids on the mid-mount valve, which is typically responsible for operating the front loader.

Check the cause

  1. Visual Inspection: Inspect the wiring harness running from the Mid Mount Valve Module to the loader valve block. Look for chafed wires, cuts, or breaks caused by debris or loader movement.

  2. Connector Check: Disconnect the electrical plug at the affected mid-mount valve solenoid. Check for water ingress, corrosion, or pushed-back pins that would cause a loss of connection.

  3. Coil Resistance Test: Using a digital multimeter, measure the resistance (Ohms) across the two pins of the solenoid coil. If the multimeter reads "OL" (Out of Limits / Infinite Resistance), the internal coil winding has broken, confirming the solenoid is the culprit.

  4. Harness Continuity Test: If the solenoid tests good, check the continuity of the wiring harness from the solenoid connector back to the Mid Mount Valve Module to isolate a broken wire.

Repair steps

  1. Power Down

    Turn off the tractor and disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent electrical shorts during repair.

  2. Disconnect Harness

    Unplug the electrical connector from the failed mid-mount valve solenoid.

  3. Remove the Solenoid Coil

    Remove the retaining nut or bolt at the end of the valve stem that holds the solenoid coil in place.

  4. Swap the Coil

    Slide the faulty solenoid coil off the hydraulic valve cartridge. (Note: You usually do not need to open the hydraulic system or drain fluid just to replace the electromagnetic coil).

  5. Install New Part

    Slide the new OEM solenoid coil onto the stem and tighten the retaining nut to the manufacturer's torque specification.

  6. Reconnect and Clear

    Reconnect the wiring harness. Reconnect the battery. Use a compatible Massey Ferguson diagnostic tool to clear the B.00.10 / 0B.00.10 fault code from the system. Test the loader joystick to ensure proper operation.
