B.00.14

Massey Ferguson B.00.14 – Mid Mount Valve Module: Loader Mid Mount Electro Valve Solenoid Low Amp Draw

Issue description

The control module is detecting lower-than-expected electrical current (amperage) flowing through the solenoid circuit that controls the mid-mount loader valve. This indicates an open circuit, typically caused by a broken wire in the harness, a disconnected or heavily corroded electrical plug, or a failed (burnt out/open) solenoid coil.

Check the cause

  1. Visual Inspection: Locate the mid-mount valve block (usually mounted on the right side of the tractor chassis, below the cab). Inspect the wiring harness and connectors leading to the solenoids for physical damage, rubbing, corrosion, or pushed-out pins.

  2. Coil Resistance Test: Disconnect the electrical plug from the suspect solenoid. Use a digital multimeter to measure the resistance (Ohms) across the two pins on the solenoid coil. If the multimeter reads 'OL' (Open Loop) or shows unusually high resistance, the internal coil winding is broken, and the solenoid must be replaced.

  3. Voltage/Signal Test: With the tractor key ON (engine off), actuate the loader joystick and probe the harness-side connector. You should see supply voltage. If no voltage is present, the issue lies upstream in the wiring harness or the Mid Mount Valve Module.

  4. Ground Check: Verify that the ground circuit for the solenoid has low resistance to the tractor chassis.

Repair steps

  1. Prepare tractor for service

Park the tractor on a level surface, lower the loader bucket completely to the ground, turn off the engine, and remove the key.

  2. Relieve hydraulic pressure

Relieve all residual hydraulic pressure by moving the loader joystick in all directions.

  3. Locate valve block

Locate the mid-mount electro-hydraulic valve block.

  4. Disconnect harness

Disconnect the electrical wiring harness from the faulty solenoid.

  5. Remove retaining nut

Remove the retaining nut located at the top/end of the solenoid coil.

  6. Remove faulty coil

Slide the faulty solenoid coil off the hydraulic valve cartridge stem. (Note: You only need to remove the electromagnetic coil, not the hydraulic cartridge itself. This prevents hydraulic fluid loss and prevents contamination of the hydraulic system).

  7. Clean valve stem

Clean the valve stem of any dirt, rust, or debris.

  8. Install new coil

Slide the new replacement solenoid coil onto the stem.

  9. Reinstall retaining nut

Reinstall the retaining nut and tighten it snugly. Do not over-tighten, as excessive torque can distort the internal valve cartridge and cause the spool to stick.

  10. Reconnect harness

    Reconnect the electrical harness plug.

  11. Test and clear code

Start the tractor, test the loader functions for proper operation, and use the dash interface or an AGCO Electronic Diagnostic Tool (EDT) to clear the stored B.00.14 fault code.
