Massey Ferguson B.00.22 – Autotronic 5 - Transmission 1 controller (CAB151): Issue With Calibration OF Valves
Issue description
This code indicates that the transmission's electro-hydraulic valves (specifically the Power Shuttle or transmission shift valves) are out of calibration, or a recent calibration attempt has failed. This can cause jerky shifting, delayed direction changes, or a complete lack of shuttle response.

Check the cause
Check transmission oil temperature via the Dash Control Center (diagnostic screen 1) to ensure it is between 35°C (95°F) and 45°C (113°F).
Perform a valve warm-up by engaging the PTO and activating the PowerShuttle forward and reverse 10 times in each direction, holding for 5-10 seconds each time.
Verify PowerShuttle progressivity settings (forward engagement, reverse engagement, and ratio shifting sensitivity) are all set to '0' on the dash screen.
Check the shuttle position potentiometer (located on the transmission cover on the right-hand side) for correct voltage and physical adjustment.
Repair steps
Position the tractor on flat ground.
Position the tractor on flat ground.
Ensure the transmission oil temperature is within the 35°C–45°C range.
Ensure the transmission oil temperature is within the 35°C–45°C range.
Disengage the PTO, place the tractor in neutral, and release the parking brake.
Disengage the PTO, place the tractor in neutral, and release the parking brake.
Raise the engine speed to approximately 1500 RPM.
Raise the engine speed to approximately 1500 RPM.
Raise the PowerShuttle arm and press the differential lock switch.
Raise the PowerShuttle arm (left of the steering wheel) to the raised position and hold it there while simultaneously pressing the differential lock switch.
Hold both for approximately 10 seconds.
Hold both for approximately 10 seconds until the right-hand transmission gear screen displays 'Ct'.
Begin the automatic calibration.
Once 'Ct' is displayed, place the PowerShuttle arm into the forward position to begin the automatic calibration.
Wait for the calibration to complete.
The calibration takes about 10 minutes. The screen will continuously show 'Ct', and it is normal to hear the transmission shifting and valves actuating.
Verify the screen displays the current transmission ratio.
When complete, the screen will display the current transmission ratio (e.g., '1A/2A' or '1E/2E').
Save the new calibration settings.
To save the new calibration settings, place the PowerShuttle into neutral, disengage the differential lock, idle the tractor down, and turn the engine off.
Restart the tractor and validate the repair.
Restart the tractor and validate the repair by performing various forward-to-reverse maneuvers to ensure shifting is smooth.
