Massey Ferguson B.00.23 – Autotronic controller or dedicated hydraulic/implement control module: Issue With Calibration OF Valves

Issue description

An electro-hydraulic valve (such as a loader mid-mount valve, suspension valve, or transmission shuttle valve) has failed its calibration procedure, is out of its calibrated range, or has a circuit condition preventing successful calibration.

Check the cause

  1. Retrieve and verify codes using a compatible diagnostic tool to confirm B.00.23 is active and check for accompanying codes (e.g., open circuit or amp draw codes like 0B.01.01 through 0B.01.12) to pinpoint the exact valve

  2. Perform a wiggle-test on the wiring harness connected to the hydraulic valves while watching the voltage or fault status on the diagnostic tool to identify intermittent connection issues

  3. Measure the coil resistance of the suspected electro valve solenoid and compare it to a known good valve (e.g., comparing left/right paired valves), and verify proper power supply voltage is reaching the solenoid

  4. If the fault is related to the shuttle or directional valves, check the voltage on the shuttle position potentiometer to ensure it is adjusted correctly, as incorrect voltage can prevent successful calibration

Repair steps

  1. Clear the Memory

    Clear the fault code memory using the diagnostic interface. If the code is active, it will immediately return.

  2. Run Calibration

    Initiate the valve calibration procedure via the tractor's display or diagnostic tool (e.g., Autotronic calibration process). Many valve calibration issues are resolved simply by running the machine's automated calibration sequence if the physical components are intact.

  3. Repair Wiring

    If calibration fails or the sensor reads fine at rest but fails in motion, inspect the connector pin fitment and harness routing. Repair any damaged wires or corroded pins.

  4. Replace the Solenoid/Valve

    If the solenoid fails the resistance test, has a dead short, or the valve is mechanically stuck, remove the faulty electro valve solenoid and install a replacement.

  5. Final Calibration

    After replacing any hydraulic valve or solenoid, you must restart and successfully complete the calibration procedure for the new component to function properly.
