   Check battery and charging system to ensure the alternator is outputting 13.5 to 14.5 volts, as low system voltage can trigger false electrical codes.

   Disconnect Power

   Disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent short circuits during repair.

   Carefully pry or unscrew the housing on the loader joystick handle or side console where the selector switch is mounted.

   Disconnect the electrical pigtail from the back of the switch. If the switch is integrated into the joystick knob, you may need to loosen the set screws at the base of the knob and remove the entire upper joystick handle.
