Massey Ferguson B.01.05 – Mid Mount Valve Module: Loader Mid Mount Electro Valve Solenoid Low Amp Draw

The control module is detecting less electrical current (amperage) than expected flowing through the circuit of the solenoid that operates the mid-mount hydraulic valve for the front-end loader.

   Visually inspect the wiring harness leading to the mid-mount valve solenoids for chafing, rodent damage, or pinched wires

   Disconnect the electrical plug at the affected solenoid and check for water ingress, corrosion, or pushed-out pins

   Measure the resistance (Ohms) across the two pins of the suspect solenoid coil to check for an open circuit (OL) or unusually high resistance

   With the tractor running and hydraulic lockouts disabled, actuate the loader joystick and verify that the Mid Mount Valve Module is sending the correct voltage to the connector

   Relieve Pressure

   Safely park the tractor, lower the front-end loader flat to the ground, turn off the engine, and cycle the loader joystick to relieve any residual hydraulic pressure in the mid-mount valve block.

   Access the Valve

   Locate the mid-mount electro-hydraulic valve block under the tractor. Clean the area around the affected solenoid to prevent dirt from entering the hydraulic system.

   Disconnect Wiring

   Unplug the electrical harness connector from the faulty solenoid.

   Remove the Solenoid Coil

   Remove the retaining nut or bolt at the end of the valve stem that holds the solenoid coil in place.

   Swap the Coil

   Slide the faulty electromagnetic coil off the hydraulic valve cartridge stem. (Note: You usually do not need to remove the hydraulic cartridge itself, which prevents fluid loss).

   Install the New Part

   Slide the new solenoid coil onto the stem and torque the retaining nut to the manufacturer's specification.

   Reconnect and Test

   Reconnect the wiring harness. Start the tractor, test the loader's lift/tilt functions for smooth operation, and use a compatible diagnostic tool to clear the B.01.05 / 0B.01.05 DTC from the module's memory.
