Massey Ferguson B.01.08 – Mid Mount Valve Module: Loader Mid Mount Electro Valve Solenoid Low Amp Draw

The control module is detecting that the electrical current (amperage) flowing through the loader's mid-mount valve solenoid circuit is lower than the expected operational threshold. A "low amp draw" typically indicates high electrical resistance in the circuit. This is most commonly caused by a failing solenoid coil (internal break or high resistance), a loose or corroded electrical connector, or a damaged/chafed wire in the harness.

   Trace the wiring harness from the Mid Mount Valve Module to the loader electro valve block. Look for pinched wires, chafing against the tractor chassis, or breaks.

   Disconnect the plug at the affected solenoid. Inspect for water ingress, dirt, corrosion, or pushed-out pins.

   Use a digital multimeter to measure the resistance across the pins of the solenoid coil. Compare the reading to the OEM specification. An unusually high reading or an 'OL' (Open Loop) reading confirms the solenoid coil has failed internally.

   With the key on and the loader joystick actuated, probe the harness connector to ensure the module is sending the correct command voltage to the solenoid.

   Power Down

   Turn off the tractor, remove the key, and disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent electrical shorts.

   Locate the Valve

   Locate the mid-mount electro-hydraulic valve block (usually mounted on the right side of the tractor chassis where the loader hydraulic hoses connect).

   Clean and Repair Wiring

   If the diagnostic checks revealed a corroded connector, clean the pins with electrical contact cleaner and apply dielectric grease. If a wire is broken, splice and heat-shrink the repair.

   Replace the Solenoid

   Disconnect the electrical harness plug from the faulty solenoid. Remove the retaining nut or screw at the end of the solenoid stem. Slide the old solenoid coil off the hydraulic valve cartridge. Slide the new solenoid coil onto the stem and secure it with the retaining nut (do not overtighten, as this can warp the coil).

   Reassemble and Test

   Reconnect the electrical harness. Reconnect the battery.

   Clear Codes

   Start the tractor, test the loader joystick for proper function, and use a compatible Massey Ferguson diagnostic tool to clear the DTC from the system.
