Massey Ferguson B.01.10 – Mid Mount Valve Module: Loader Mid Mount Electro Valve Solenoid Open Circuit

The electrical circuit controlling the solenoid for the mid-mount loader valve has an open circuit. The underlying condition is typically a broken wire, a disconnected or corroded electrical plug, or a burnt-out solenoid coil that is no longer completing the circuit.

   Visual Inspection: Inspect the wiring harness running from the Mid Mount Valve Module to the loader electro-valve block for any visible damage, chafing, or breaks.

   Connector Check: Disconnect the electrical plug at the specific solenoid throwing the code. Check for corrosion, pushed-back pins, or moisture inside the connector.

   Coil Resistance Test: Use a multimeter to test the resistance across the pins of the solenoid coil. An infinite resistance reading (OL) confirms an internal open circuit in the coil, meaning the coil is dead and must be replaced.

   Harness Continuity Test: If the coil tests good, check the continuity of the wiring harness from the solenoid connector back to the Mid Mount Valve Module to isolate a broken wire.

   Disconnect Power

   Disconnect the tractor's battery to prevent electrical shorts during repair.

   Locate the Valve Block

   Locate the electronic mid-mount valve block, which is typically mounted on the right side of the tractor chassis where the front-end loader hydraulic lines connect.

   Access the Solenoid

   Identify the specific solenoid valve triggering the open circuit code. Disconnect its electrical connector.

   Repair Wiring

   If the diagnostic checks revealed a broken wire, splice and repair the wiring harness, or replace the connector pigtail.

   Replace the Solenoid Coil

   If the coil is internally open, remove the retaining nut at the end of the valve stem. Slide the old solenoid coil off the cartridge stem and slide the new one on. Secure it with the retaining nut (do not overtighten, as this can distort the valve).

   Reassembly

   Reconnect the electrical plug to the solenoid.

   Clear Codes

   Reconnect the battery and use a compatible Massey Ferguson diagnostic tool to clear the DTCs from the system. Test the loader functions to ensure the code does not return.
