Massey Ferguson B.01.11 – Mid Mount Valve Module: Loader Mid Mount Electro Valve Solenoid Low Amp Draw

Issue description

The control module is detecting a lower-than-expected electrical current (amperage) when it attempts to energize the solenoid for the mid-mount loader electro-hydraulic valve. A 'low amp draw' typically indicates high electrical resistance in the circuit, commonly caused by a failing solenoid coil, a loose or corroded electrical connector, or a partially broken wire.

Check the cause

  1. Inspect the wiring harness running from the Mid Mount Valve Module to the loader valve block for chafed wires, pinch points, or physical damage.

  2. Disconnect the electrical plug at the suspect mid-mount valve solenoid and check for water ingress, dirt, or green corrosion on the pins. Ensure the pins are tight and making good contact.

  3. Measure the resistance (Ohms) across the two pins of the solenoid coil using a digital multimeter and compare to OEM specifications. An unusually high resistance reading or an open circuit confirms internal coil failure.

  4. Check the continuity of the wiring harness from the solenoid connector back to the Mid Mount Valve Module to rule out a broken wire.

Repair steps

  1. Preparation

    Turn off the tractor, remove the key, and disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent electrical shorts.

  2. Locate the Valve

    Locate the mid-mount electro-hydraulic valve block (typically mounted on the right side of the tractor chassis where the loader hydraulic hoses connect).

  3. Clean the Area

    Wipe down the valve block around the affected solenoid to prevent dirt from entering the hydraulic system.

  4. Remove the Solenoid

    Disconnect the electrical harness from the solenoid. Remove the retaining nut at the end of the valve stem holding the coil in place.

  5. Replace the Coil

    Slide the old solenoid coil off the valve cartridge tube. Slide the new OEM coil onto the stem.

  6. Reassembly

    Reinstall and tighten the retaining nut. Reconnect the electrical harness, ensuring the weather-pack seal clicks into place.

  7. Clear Codes & Test

    Reconnect the battery. Use a compatible Massey Ferguson diagnostic tool to clear the B.01.11 / 0B.00.11 DTC. Start the tractor and operate the loader joystick to verify the fault does not return and the loader functions smoothly.
