Massey Ferguson B.01.12 – Mid Mount Valve Module: Loader Mid Mount Electro Valve Solenoid High Amp Draw
Issue description
The tractor's onboard diagnostic system has detected that the electrical current (amperage) flowing through the circuit to the loader's mid-mount electro-hydraulic valve solenoid is higher than the specified threshold. This typically indicates an electrical short circuit. Common culprits include a shorted internal solenoid coil, a wire shorting directly to the tractor's chassis (ground), or water ingress in the electrical connectors causing a low-resistance bridge.

Check the cause
Visually inspect the wiring harness from the Mid Mount Valve Module to the loader valve block for pinched wires, chafing against the tractor frame, or melted insulation.
Disconnect the harness at the mid-mount valve solenoid and inspect the pins for corrosion, dirt, or water ingress.
Using a multimeter, measure the resistance (Ohms) across the pins of the solenoid coil to check for an internal short (a reading of zero or near-zero ohms indicates a short).
With the solenoid disconnected, use a multimeter to check for continuity between the power supply wire in the harness and the tractor's chassis ground to test for a shorted harness.

Disconnect Power
Turn off the tractor and disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent accidental electrical spikes.
Relieve Hydraulic Pressure
Cycle the loader joystick/controls to relieve any residual hydraulic pressure in the mid-mount valve block.
Isolate the Fault
Based on the diagnostic checks, determine if the fault is in the wiring harness or the solenoid itself.
Replace the Solenoid (If shorted)
Unplug the electrical connector from the faulty solenoid on the mid-mount valve block. Remove the retaining nut holding the solenoid coil to the valve stem. Slide the old solenoid coil off the valve cartridge. Slide the new replacement solenoid coil onto the cartridge and secure it with the retaining nut (do not overtighten, as this can warp the cartridge).
Repair Wiring (If shorted)
If the harness is damaged, splice and heat-shrink the damaged wires, or replace the affected harness section. Route the wiring away from pinch points or hot hydraulic lines.
Reassemble and Clear Codes
Reconnect the battery. Use a compatible Massey Ferguson diagnostic tool to clear the 0B.01.12 DTC from the Mid Mount Valve Module. Test the loader functions to ensure the code does not return.
