Massey Ferguson B.01.14 – Mid Mount Valve Module: Loader Mid Mount Electro Valve Solenoid Low Amp Draw

The electrical current drawn by the solenoid for the mid-mount loader valve is lower than the expected threshold. A low amp draw typically points to an open circuit, high electrical resistance in the wiring, a disconnected plug, or a failing solenoid coil.

   Check Fluid Levels: Ensure your hydraulic fluid is clean and at the proper level. Dirty or low fluid can cause premature solenoid failure.

   Inspect Wiring and Connectors: Check the electrical connections to the mid-mount valve solenoids. Look for disconnected plugs, corrosion on the pins, or damaged wiring harnesses that could cause an open circuit.

   Test the Solenoid Coil: Measure the resistance of the solenoid coil using a multimeter to verify if the coil itself has failed internally (causing the low amp draw).

   Verify Voltage: Check the voltage supply reaching the solenoid from the Mid Mount Valve Module to ensure the circuit is intact.

   Safety First

   Always relieve hydraulic system pressure and disconnect the tractor's battery before starting work on electro-hydraulic components.

   Locate the Valve

   The mid-mount valve block typically mounts to the transmission housing or mid-chassis where the hydraulic lines connect to the loader.

   Disconnect Electricals

   Unplug the electrical connector from the affected loader mid-mount solenoid.

   Remove the Solenoid

   Depending on the valve design, remove the retaining nut holding the solenoid coil to the valve cartridge, or unthread the entire solenoid valve cartridge from the block.

   Install the Replacement

   Slide the new solenoid coil over the cartridge (or thread in the new cartridge). Ensure quality seals are in place to resist hydraulic fluid leaks.

   Reconnect and Clear Codes

   Reconnect the electrical harness, reconnect the battery, and use a compatible Massey Ferguson diagnostic tool to clear the 0B.01.14 DTC from the system.
