Massey Ferguson B.01.24 – Cab Controller or Implement/Electro-Hydraulic ECU: Issue With Voltage From Loader Selector Switch In Cab

The tractor's onboard diagnostic system has detected an irregular electrical signal—such as an open circuit, short circuit, or an out-of-range voltage—coming from the switch inside the cab used to select or operate the loader functions.

   Verify system voltage with the engine running (alternator should produce 13.5 to 14.5 volts) to rule out false codes caused by low baseline voltage.

   Inspect the wiring loom between the loader selector switch in the cab and the control module for signs of fraying, burns, or loose connections caused by vibration or rodents.

   Examine the electrical connectors at the switch for corrosion, moisture, or loose pins.

   Test the voltage output directly at the loader selector switch using a multimeter to determine if the switch has failed internally or if the issue lies within the wiring harness.

   Disconnect Power

   Always disconnect the tractor's battery before working on the electrical system to prevent short circuits.

   Access the Switch

   Remove the necessary cab trim or joystick console panels to access the loader selector switch.

   Clean and Inspect

   Disconnect the wiring harness from the switch. If corrosion is present, clean the terminals thoroughly.

   Repair Wiring (If Applicable)

   If the diagnostic checks revealed damaged wires, splice in new heat-resistant wire or replace the damaged connector. Secure the wiring with zip-ties to reduce future vibration-related wear.

   Replace the Switch

   If the switch failed the multimeter test, remove the faulty switch and install a new OEM replacement.

   Apply Dielectric Grease

   Apply dielectric grease to the connectors prior to reassembly to prevent future moisture ingress and corrosion.

   Reconnect the battery. Use a compatible Massey Ferguson diagnostic tool to clear the DTC from the system's memory.

   Test Operation

   Start the tractor and operate the loader selector switch to ensure the voltage issue is resolved and the code does not return.
