Massey Ferguson B.02.06 – Mid Mount Valve Module: Loader Mid Mount Electro Valve Solenoid High Amp Draw
Issue description
The control module has detected that the electrical current (amperage) flowing through the loader's mid-mount electro-hydraulic valve solenoid is exceeding the maximum expected threshold. This typically indicates a short circuit condition caused by a shorted internal coil, a short-to-ground in the wiring harness, or water ingress.

Check the cause
Visually inspect the wiring harness running from the mid-mount valve block to the main harness for pinched wires, chafing against the chassis, or melted insulation.
Disconnect the plug at the affected solenoid and check for water ingress, mud, or melted/corroded pins that could be bridging the connection.
Measure the resistance (Ohms) across the two pins of the disconnected solenoid coil using a digital multimeter. A healthy 12V solenoid reads 5 to 10 ohms; near 0 ohms indicates an internal short.
Perform a harness short-to-ground test by turning the key ON and activating the loader joystick with the solenoid disconnected. If the fuse blows or the power supply wire shows continuity to chassis ground, the harness is shorted.

Safety First
Lower the loader to the ground, turn off the tractor, remove the key, and cycle the loader joystick in all directions to relieve any residual hydraulic pressure.
Locate the Valve
Access the mid-mount electro-hydraulic valve block.
Disconnect Electrical
Unplug the wiring harness connector from the faulty solenoid.
Remove the Solenoid Coil
Remove the retaining nut or cap screw at the end of the valve stem.
Swap the Coil
Slide the faulty electromagnetic coil off the hydraulic valve cartridge stem. (Note: You usually do not need to remove the hydraulic cartridge itself, meaning no hydraulic fluid will be lost).
Install New Part
Slide the new solenoid coil onto the stem, ensuring any O-rings or weather seals are properly seated. Tighten the retaining nut to the manufacturer's torque spec (do not overtighten, or you may crack the plastic coil housing).
Reconnect and Clear
Plug the electrical connector back in. Turn the tractor on and use a compatible diagnostic tool (or the dash interface) to clear the 0B.02.06 fault code. Test loader operation.
