B.02.08

Massey Ferguson B.02.08 – Mid Mount Valve Module: Loader Mid Mount Electro Valve Solenoid Low Amp Draw

Issue description

The system is detecting a "Low Amp Draw" on the circuit for the loader's mid-mount electro valve solenoid. A low amperage draw typically indicates an open circuit, high electrical resistance, a disconnected/broken wire, or a completely failed solenoid coil that is no longer drawing the expected current to actuate the valve.

Check the cause

  1. Ensure the tractor is stopped, the directional control is in neutral, and the parking brake is applied. Put the power key switch in the OFF position before disconnecting any electrical components.

  2. Check the condition of the electrical insulation on the wiring harness leading to the mid-mount valve. Look for chafed wires, broken lines, or disconnected plugs that would cause an open circuit.

  3. Use the tractor's electrical schematics to trace the circuit between the Mid Mount Valve Module and the specific selector solenoid.

  4. Test the solenoid coil for resistance to determine if the coil itself has failed open.

Repair steps

  1. Preparation

Turn off the machine, engage the parking brake, and ensure the key switch is in the OFF position. Relieve any residual hydraulic pressure in the loader circuit.

  2. Locate the Valve

Locate the mid-mount electro-hydraulic valve block (typically mounted under the right side of the cab or along the chassis rail, depending on the model).

  3. Remove the Defective Solenoid

Disconnect the electrical connector from the faulty solenoid. Because the solenoid and valve cartridges cannot be serviced internally, you must remove and replace the defective cartridge assembly to repair the valve.

  4. Install the New Solenoid

Thread the new solenoid valve cartridge into the valve block and tighten to OEM specifications.

  5. Reconnect and Test

    Reconnect the electrical harness.

  6. Clear Codes

Use a compatible Massey Ferguson diagnostic tool or interface device (EDT) to clear the B.02.08 / 0B.X.08 fault code from the system. Test the loader functions to ensure proper operation.
