Massey Ferguson B.02.14 – Mid Mount Valve Module: Loader Mid Mount Electro Valve Solenoid Low Amp Draw
Issue description
The electrical current (amperage) flowing through the solenoid circuit for the loader's mid-mount electro-hydraulic valve is lower than the controller's expected threshold. This typically points to an open circuit, high electrical resistance in the wiring harness, a corroded connector, or a failed (open) solenoid coil.

Check the cause
Visually inspect the mid-mount valve block wiring harness (usually under the right-hand side of the cab) for chafing, breaks, or rodent damage.
Disconnect the electrical connector at the affected solenoid and check for water intrusion, bent pins, or corrosion.
Perform a resistance test (Ohms) across the solenoid coil pins using a multimeter; an infinite reading (OL) confirms an internally broken/open coil.
Perform a voltage/continuity test on the wiring harness from the Mid Mount Valve Module to the solenoid to ensure there is no break in the wire.
Repair steps
Turn off the tractor, remove the key, and disconnect the negative battery terminal.
Ensure the machine is completely powered down before beginning electrical or hydraulic work.
Relieve any residual hydraulic pressure in the loader circuit by moving the joystick through all positions.
This prevents pressurized fluid from escaping during the repair.
Navigate to the mid-mount electro valve block.
Locate the valve block to access the solenoids and wiring.
If the diagnostic checks proved the wiring harness is at fault, repair the broken wire or replace the specific harness section.
Address any open circuits or high resistance found in the wiring harness.
If the solenoid coil failed the resistance test, remove the retaining nut holding the solenoid coil to the valve stem.
Prepare to replace the internally broken/open coil.
Slide the old solenoid coil off the valve cartridge.
You typically do not need to open the hydraulic system to replace just the coil.
Slide the new OEM solenoid coil onto the stem and torque the retaining nut to spec.
Install the replacement coil securely.
Reconnect the electrical connector, ensuring the weather seal is intact.
Prevent future water intrusion and corrosion.
Reconnect the battery, turn on the tractor, and use a compatible diagnostic tool to clear the DTCs.
Restore power and clear the fault codes from the system.
Test the loader joystick to verify proper operation and ensure the code does not return.
Confirm the repair was successful and the low amp draw issue is resolved.
