Check the cause
Use a multimeter to test the voltage output directly from the loader selector switch in the cab while operating it
Inspect the wiring harness running between the cab selector switch and the Mid Mount Valve Module for signs of fraying, burns, or vibration-related wear
Check the connectors at the switch and the module for loose pins, moisture, or corrosion
Test the circuit for continuity to rule out a short circuit caused by damaged wire insulation
Repair steps
Disconnect Power
Disconnect the tractor's battery to prevent electrical shorts during the repair.
Access the Switch
Locate the loader selector switch in the cab (typically integrated into the right-hand console or the loader joystick itself).
Remove the Switch
Carefully disconnect the wiring harness connector from the back of the switch. Remove the switch from its mounting panel or joystick housing.
Install the New Part
Install the replacement switch into the housing.
Reconnect Wiring
Reconnect the wiring harness. (Applying a small amount of dielectric grease to the connector pins is recommended to prevent future corrosion).
Restore Power
Reconnect the battery.
Clear Codes
Connect a compatible Massey Ferguson diagnostic tool to the tractor and clear the stored DTCs.
Test Operation
Start the tractor and test the loader selector switch to ensure proper voltage is being sent and the loader functions operate without triggering the code.
