Massey Ferguson B.X.01 – Mid Mount Valve Module: Loader Mid Mount Electro Valve Solenoid Open Circuit

The control module is sending an electrical signal to the solenoid responsible for actuating the loader's mid-mount hydraulic valve, but the electrical circuit is incomplete. The system cannot detect the solenoid, which is almost always caused by a broken wire in the harness, a disconnected plug, or a burnt-out (open) internal winding inside the solenoid coil itself.

   Locate the mid-mount valve block and inspect the wiring harness leading to the solenoids for obvious physical damage, chafing against the chassis, or disconnected plugs.

   Disconnect the plug at the affected solenoid and check for corrosion, bent pins, or moisture ingress inside the connector.

   Using a digital multimeter, measure the resistance across the two pins of the solenoid coil. A healthy 12V coil should show 5 to 15 ohms; infinite resistance (OL) proves the internal coil winding is broken.

   If the coil tests good, check the continuity of the wiring harness from the solenoid connector back to the Mid Mount Valve Module to isolate a broken wire in the loom.

   Safety First

   Lower the front loader completely to the ground to relieve all hydraulic pressure. Turn off the tractor and disconnect the negative battery cable.

   Access the Valve

   Clean the area around the affected mid-mount electro-hydraulic valve block to prevent dirt from entering the system.

   Remove the Solenoid Coil

   Disconnect the electrical wiring harness plug from the faulty solenoid. Remove the retaining nut at the end of the solenoid stem.

   Replace the Coil

   Slide the old solenoid coil off the valve stem. Slide the new coil onto the stem.

   Reassembly

   Install and tighten the retaining nut. Reconnect the electrical harness plug, ensuring it clicks into place securely.

   Clear Codes and Test

   Reconnect the battery. Turn the key on and use a compatible diagnostic tool (or the dash interface, if supported) to clear the 0B.X.01 fault code. Start the tractor and test the loader joystick functions to verify the repair.
