Massey Ferguson B.X.02 – Mid Mount Valve Module: Loader Mid Mount Electro Valve Solenoid Low Amp Draw

The system has detected that the electrical current (amperage) being drawn by the solenoid on the mid-mount electro-hydraulic valve is lower than the minimum required threshold. This typically indicates an open circuit, high electrical resistance, a broken wire, a corroded connector, or a burned-out solenoid coil.

   Visual Inspection: Locate the mid-mount valve block (usually mounted under the right-hand side of the cab). Inspect the wiring harness leading to the solenoids for chafing, rodent damage, or breaks.

   Connector Check: Disconnect the plug at the affected solenoid. Check for water ingress, dirt, or pushed-back/corroded pins.

   Resistance Test (Ohms): Using a multimeter, measure the resistance across the two pins of the solenoid coil. A reading of 'OL' (open line) or unusually high resistance confirms the coil has failed internally.

   Voltage/Ground Test: With the tractor on and the loader joystick activated, verify that the harness is delivering proper voltage and has a solid ground. If voltage is missing, the issue is in the wiring harness or the module, not the solenoid.

   Power Down

   Turn off the tractor and disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent short circuits.

   Access the Valve

   Locate the mid-mount electro-valve block. Clean the area around the affected solenoid to prevent dirt from entering the hydraulic system.

   Disconnect

   Unplug the electrical connector from the faulty solenoid.

   Remove the Coil

   Remove the retaining nut at the end of the valve stem. Slide the old solenoid coil off the cartridge tube. (Note: You usually do not need to remove the hydraulic cartridge itself, meaning no hydraulic fluid will be lost).

   Install New Coil

   Slide the replacement solenoid coil onto the stem. Install and tighten the retaining nut to OEM torque specs (do not overtighten, or you may distort the valve stem).

   Reconnect

   Plug the electrical harness back into the new solenoid.

   Clear Codes

   Reconnect the battery. Use a compatible diagnostic tool or the dash interface to clear the inactive 0B.00.02 DTC.

   Test

   Start the tractor and operate the loader joystick to verify smooth operation and ensure the code does not return.
