B.X.05

Massey Ferguson B.X.05 – Dash: Loader Mid Mount Electro Valve Solenoid Low Amp Draw

Issue description

The tractor's onboard diagnostic system is detecting that the electrical current (amperage) flowing through the loader's mid-mount valve solenoid is lower than the expected threshold. This condition is typically caused by an open circuit, high resistance in the wiring harness/connectors, or a burned-out solenoid coil.

Check the cause

  1. Ensure the tractor battery is fully charged (around 12.6V) and that system voltage is not collapsing under load

  2. Inspect the wiring harness leading to the mid-mount valve block for corrosion, loose pins, or broken wires that would cause high electrical resistance

  3. Disconnect the electrical plug from the suspect solenoid and measure the resistance (ohms) across the coil pins to check for an open circuit or unusually high resistance

  4. Check for proper voltage reaching the connector when the loader joystick is activated (Trigger Test)

Repair steps

  1. Relieve Pressure

Turn off the tractor and cycle the loader joystick to relieve any residual hydraulic pressure.

  2. Locate the Valve

Locate the mid-mount electro-hydraulic valve block (usually mounted under the right side of the cab or near the loader subframe).

  3. Disconnect

Unplug the electrical connector from the faulty solenoid.

  4. Remove Coil

Remove the retaining nut at the end of the solenoid stem and slide the old coil off the hydraulic valve cartridge. (Note: Do not remove the hydraulic cartridge itself unless it is leaking or mechanically stuck, to avoid fluid loss).

  5. Install New Coil

Slide the replacement coil onto the stem, secure it with the retaining nut, and plug in the electrical connector.

  6. Clear Codes

Use a compatible Massey Ferguson diagnostic tool to clear the DTCs from the system and test the loader for proper operation.

Parts you might need

(1)
  • Loader Mid-Mount Valve Solenoid Coil / Electronic Mid-Mount Valve Kit

    AG712817

Genuine AGCO Solenoid Valve. If the coil cannot be sourced individually via AGCO, aftermarket hydraulic solenoid coils matching the voltage and stem diameter can often be used as direct replacements.
