B.X.11

Massey Ferguson B.X.11 – Mid Mount Valve Module: Loader Mid Mount Electro Valve Solenoid Low Amp Draw

Issue description

The control module is detecting that the electrical current (amperage) flowing through the mid-mount loader valve solenoid circuit is lower than the expected operational threshold. This typically indicates high electrical resistance, a failing solenoid coil, a loose connection, or a partially open circuit in the wiring harness.

Check the cause

  1. Visual Inspection: Inspect the wiring harness running from the Mid Mount Valve Module to the loader valve block for chafed wires, pinched harnesses, or physical damage.

  2. Connector Check: Disconnect the electrical connector at the affected mid-mount valve solenoid and check for water ingress, bent pins, or corrosion.

  3. Coil Resistance Test: Using a multimeter, measure the resistance (Ohms) across the two pins of the solenoid coil and compare to a known good solenoid. High resistance or 'OL' confirms a failed coil.

  4. Harness Continuity Test: If the coil tests good, check the continuity of the wiring harness from the solenoid connector back to the Mid Mount Valve Module.

Repair steps

  1. Safety First

Lower the loader to the ground, turn off the tractor, relieve all hydraulic pressure by moving the joystick in all directions, and disconnect the negative battery terminal.

  2. Locate the Valve

Locate the mid-mount electro-hydraulic valve block (typically mounted on the right side of the tractor frame, under the cab).

  3. Disconnect Wiring

Unplug the electrical connector from the faulty solenoid.

  4. Remove the Solenoid Coil

Remove the retaining nut or cap screw at the end of the solenoid stem.

  5. Slide Off the Coil

Slide the faulty electromagnetic coil off the hydraulic valve cartridge tube. (Note: You usually do not need to remove the hydraulic cartridge itself, which prevents hydraulic fluid loss).

  6. Install New Coil

Slide the new solenoid coil over the valve stem and secure it with the retaining nut. Do not overtighten, as this can crack the plastic coil housing.

  7. Reconnect

Plug the electrical connector back in, ensuring the weather seal is seated properly.

  8. Test

Reconnect the battery, start the tractor, and operate the loader joystick to verify functionality. Clear the inactive 0B.00.11 fault code using a diagnostic tool or the dash interface.

Parts you might need

(2)
  • Loader Mid Mount Electro Valve Solenoid Coil / Electronic Mid-Mount Valve Kit

Exact part number varies heavily by the specific loader package and valve block generation; reference the tag on the valve block itself.

  • Mid-Mount Valve Wiring Harness

Generic replacement if the wiring harness is the culprit rather than the solenoid.
