Massey Ferguson D153 – Instrument Panel (X55) / Dash Control Center (DCC2 / DCC3): Parameter table error
Issue description
An error occurred while saving a parameter to the instrument cluster's memory, causing the system to revert to default parameters. (Note: Closely related to D152 Service Counter Issue).

Check the cause
Battery Voltage Check: Ensure the battery is fully charged and terminals are clean and tight, as low battery voltage can cause parameter save errors (D153).
Ignition Cycle: Cycle the ignition key one or two times to see if the system clears the error from a temporary glitch.
EDT Tool Scan: Use the Massey Ferguson Electronic Diagnostic Tool (EDT) to check for accompanying codes (like D157) that might have triggered the parameter save failure.
Maintenance Verification: If dealing with the service counter (D152 / Service Due light), verify if the tractor has actually reached its 400-hour or 500-hour service interval.
Repair steps
Connect diagnostic tool
Connect the EDT diagnostic tool to the tractor.
Clear fault codes
Clear the D153 fault code and any accompanying sensor codes.
Cycle ignition and test
Cycle the ignition and test operate the tractor.
Reprogram or replace cluster
If the code returns immediately, the instrument cluster (X55) or Dash Control Center is failing to write to its internal memory. The cluster will need to be reprogrammed by a dealer or replaced entirely.
Perform maintenance
For the Service Counter Issue (D152): Perform the required engine maintenance (e.g., drain the system, change oil and filters).
Turn ignition on
Turn the ignition on and navigate to the 'service schedule' screen on the Dash Control Center / Dot Matrix display.
Reset service counter
Press and hold the 'OK' key (or the OK and display selector keys simultaneously, depending on the exact model year) on the keyboard for 6 seconds.
Verify reset
Verify the service schedule counter resets back to 400 or 500 hours, and the indicator light switches off. (Alternatively, this reset can be performed using the EDT diagnostic tool).
