Massey Ferguson D154 – Instrument Panel / Dash module (DCC2 or DCC3): CAN BUS communication failure between the transmission controller and the instrument panel
Issue description
The CAN network messages sent from the transmission controller (Autotronic 4 or 5) are either lost or failing to reach the instrument panel display.

Check the cause
Inspect the CAN bus wiring harness connecting the Autotronic transmission controller to the DCC2/DCC3 instrument panel for chafing, pinched wires, or loose connector pins.
Check the continuity across the green and yellow wires of the CAN network.
Verify that there is specific, correct resistance between the CAN High and CAN Low wires after the ignition is turned on, and check operating voltages.
Verify that all power supplies and ground connections to both the Autotronic controller and the DCC2/DCC3 instrument panel are secure and providing proper voltage.
Repair steps
Access the Modules
Gain access to the rear of the instrument panel (dash) and the Autotronic transmission controller (typically located under the cab floor or right-hand console depending on the model).
Test the Harness
Using a multimeter, perform the diagnostic continuity and resistance checks on the CAN bus wires as outlined above.
Repair Wiring
If an open circuit or short circuit is found in the green/yellow CAN wires, repair the damaged wiring or replace the affected harness section.
Module Testing
If the wiring, power, and grounds are all intact and within specification, the fault lies within the hardware of one of the modules (the CAN transceiver in either the dash or the transmission controller has failed). If possible, test with a known good instrument panel.
Replace Faulty Component
Replace the faulty instrument panel (DCC2/DCC3) or Autotronic controller.
Clear Codes
Use a compatible diagnostic tool (such as the AGCO Electronic Diagnostic Tool or Jaltest) to clear the fault codes and verify that D154 does not return upon startup.
