Massey Ferguson D182 – Instrument Panel Control Unit (Module X55) or Dash Control Center keypad (Module X57): Auxiliary hydraulics lever - electrical signal too low.

The control module is receiving a voltage signal from the auxiliary hydraulic lever's position sensor (potentiometer) that has fallen below the minimum acceptable threshold. This is typically caused by an open circuit, a short to ground in the wiring harness, a disconnected plug, or a complete internal failure of the lever's potentiometer.

   Inspect the connector at the base of the affected auxiliary lever under the armrest for backed-out pins, corrosion, or loose seating.

   Using a multimeter, check the signal wire from the lever to the instrument panel/armrest module for continuity and test for a short to ground.

   Back-probe the lever's potentiometer and perform a sensor sweep test by moving the lever through its range of motion (including float) to check for smooth voltage changes or dropouts.

   Disconnect Power

   Disconnect the tractor's battery to prevent electrical spikes during component replacement.

   Access the Armrest Console

   Remove the retaining screws on the armrest cover or side console panel to expose the underside of the fingertip auxiliary hydraulic levers.

   Disconnect the Lever

   Unplug the electrical harness connector specifically routed to the faulty auxiliary lever.

   Remove the Assembly

   Unbolt the faulty auxiliary hydraulic lever assembly from the console mounting bracket.

   Install the New Part

   Seat the replacement auxiliary hydraulic lever into the bracket and secure the mounting hardware.

   Reconnect

   Plug the electrical harness back into the new lever, ensuring the locking tab clicks into place.

   Reassemble

   Reinstall the armrest/console covers and reconnect the battery.

   Clear Codes & Calibrate

   Turn the ignition on. Use the Instrument Panel Control Unit to clear the stored D182 fault code. Test the lever to ensure proper implement raise/lower/float operation. Note: A dealer calibration of the new lever's min/max voltage limits may be required via the tractor's diagnostic terminal.
