D195

Massey Ferguson D195 – Instrument Panel Control Unit: Internal temperature sensor instrument panel

Issue description

This fault code indicates a malfunction regarding the temperature sensor located inside the instrument panel. This sensor monitors the internal circuit board temperature of the display. The code triggers when the sensor detects an abnormal condition, such as an internal temperature that exceeds safe operating limits, an open circuit, or a short circuit on the board.

Applies to these machines

  • MF 8600
  • MF 8650
  • MF 8660
  • MF 8670

Check the cause

  1. Check the tractor's cab HVAC system to ensure it is functioning and that the dashboard is not being subjected to extreme, abnormal heat (e.g., blocked ventilation grilles or sitting in intense direct sunlight with the cab sealed).

  2. Cycle the power by turning the tractor off, allowing the cab and the instrument panel to cool down completely, and turning the ignition back on to see if the code is active or stored.

  3. Verify that the alternator and battery are providing the correct voltage to the instrument panel, as overvoltage conditions can cause internal components to overheat.

Repair steps

  1. Disconnect battery

Disconnect the tractor's battery to prevent electrical shorts or voltage spikes during removal.

  2. Remove trim

Remove the plastic trim and bezels surrounding the Dash Control Center / instrument panel.

  3. Remove screws

Remove the retaining screws holding the instrument cluster in the dashboard.

  4. Disconnect wiring

Carefully pull the instrument panel forward and disconnect the main wiring harness connectors from the rear of the unit.

  5. Repair or replace panel

Send the instrument panel to an authorized AGCO dealer or a specialized agricultural electronics remanufacturer for board-level repair, or obtain a replacement unit.

  6. Install panel

Connect the wiring harnesses to the new/repaired instrument panel and secure it with the mounting screws.

  7. Reinstall trim

    Reinstall the dashboard trim.

  8. Reconnect battery and calibrate

Reconnect the battery. Note: A dealer may need to use the AGCO diagnostic tool to calibrate the new instrument panel to the tractor's CAN bus system and sync the forward speed display and hours.

Parts you might need

(1)
  • Instrument Panel Cluster / Dash Control Center

The internal temperature sensor is not sold separately. Specific part numbers vary based on the exact cab configuration and transmission. Provide the tractor's serial number to an AGCO parts dealer to get the exact matching cluster.
