Massey Ferguson E107 – Engine Electronic Module (EEM): Air filter pressure
Issue description
The system detects that the air filter is restricted or that there is an electrical fault in the sensor circuit.
Applies to these machines
4 machines- Massey Ferguson 8600 Series
- Massey Ferguson 7600 Series
- Massey Ferguson tractors equipped with Dyna-4 transmissions
- Tractors utilizing SISU / AGCO Power Tier 3 and Tier 4 engines (EEM3 and EEM4 systems)
Check the cause
Inspect the physical condition of the engine air filter for heavy dirt, debris, or blockages (addresses E107 18).
If the filter is clean or if code E107 31 is present, inspect the wiring harness connected to the air filter pressure sensor. Look for defective wires, open circuits, or oxidation on the connector pins.
Test the system by temporarily connecting a known good air filter pressure sensor to see if the fault clears, indicating the original sensor is defective.
Repair steps
Address the Air Filter
If the diagnostic check reveals a clogged air filter, remove the old filter housing, clean the intake assembly, and install a new air filter.
Repair Wiring
If the wiring to the sensor is damaged or oxidized, clean the electrical contacts or repair the broken wire in the harness.
Replace the Sensor
If the wiring is intact but the sensor is reading a blockage while the engine is off (E107 31), remove the defective air filter pressure sensor and install a replacement.
Clear the Code
Once the physical repair is made, delete the error code from the dashboard control unit. If the system locked any valves or functions due to the code, stop and restart the engine to reactivate them.
