Massey Ferguson E9032 – Engine ECU: Short circuit in the main relay 3 ECU

The Engine Control Unit is detecting an improper voltage level on the analog feedback signal circuit for Main Relay 3, indicating either a grounded wire, a short to power, or an internally failed relay.

   Read Sub-Codes: Connect the AGCO EDT (Electronic Diagnostic Tool) to verify the exact FMI (FMI 3 for short to battery +, or FMI 6 / FMI 4 for short to ground) to determine which side of the circuit is compromised.

   Check the Analog Feedback Signal: Test the wiring harness between the Engine ECU and the relay block for continuity, chafing, or exposed wires touching the chassis.

   Relay Testing: Locate Main Relay 3 in the fuse/relay panel. Remove the relay and test it for an internal short circuit using a multimeter.

   Voltage Supply Check: Verify the battery voltage monitoring system, as voltage drops or spikes can sometimes trigger false relay feedback faults.

   Disconnect battery

   Disconnect the tractor's battery to prevent further electrical damage or ECU spikes.

   Access fuse box

   Access the main fuse and relay box (refer to the specific model's fuse box guide).

   Remove relay

   Remove Main Relay 3.

   Repair wiring

   If the wiring harness shows a short to ground or battery positive, repair the damaged section of the wiring harness and apply heat-shrink tubing.

   Replace relay

   If the wiring is intact but the relay is internally shorted, replace the relay with a genuine AGCO 12V 40A relay.

   Reconnect battery

   Reconnect the battery.

   Clear fault code

   Connect the EDT diagnostic tool, clear the E9032 fault code, and cycle the ignition to ensure the ECU cut-off function operates normally and the code does not return.
