Massey Ferguson E9230 – Diagnostic ID module: Inconsistency of technical characteristics of the engine

Triggers when the Engine Control Unit (ECU) detects that the programmed engine specifications or serial number data do not match the actual hardware, or there is a communication/data mismatch between the ECU and the Diagnostic ID module. When this code is active, the tractor typically enters an emergency limp mode, limiting engine power to 60% and maximum engine speed to 1500 RPM.

   Verify recent service history to see if the Engine Control Unit (EEM3) or the Diagnostic ID module was recently replaced, swapped, or flashed without proper programming

   Inspect battery terminals and connections for voltage spikes or low voltage, which can cause memory corruption in the ID module

   Connect the AGCO Electronic Diagnostic Tool (EDT) to read the engine serial number and specifications currently programmed in the ECU, and compare this data to the physical data plate on the engine block

   Connect diagnostic tool

   Connect the AGCO EDT (Electronic Diagnostic Tool) to the tractor's diagnostic port.

   Navigate to the Engine Control Unit (EEM3) and Diagnostic ID module parameters.

   Verify and reprogram data

   Verify the engine serial number and specification data. If the ECU or ID module was recently replaced, use the software to reprogram the module with the correct engine specifications to match the physical engine.
