   Check the transmission speed sensor (or radar speed sensor) for physical damage.

   Inspect the wiring harness and connector between the speed sensor and the TCU for moisture intrusion or damage.

   Verify the sensor's internal resistance (a healthy standard OEM speed sensor should read approximately 540 Ohms).

   Look for accompanying codes on the instrument panel that might indicate a broader TCU communication failure or voltage issue.

   Locate the Sensor

   Locate the electronic speed sensor, which is typically mounted on the transmission housing or rear axle.

   Disconnect

   Carefully unplug the electrical connector from the sensor harness. Clean away any field debris or dirt around the mounting area to prevent contamination of the transmission fluid.

   Remove

   Remove the mounting bolt securing the sensor and pull the old sensor out of the housing.

   Install

   Insert the new OEM speed sensor (ensure any provided O-rings or seals are seated properly) and tighten the mounting bolt.

   Reconnect

   Plug the electrical connector back in. Ensure the weather seal is intact to prevent future moisture intrusion.

   Calibrate

   Turn on the tractor. Some modern Massey Ferguson systems may require a brief reset or calibration procedure via the instrument panel to recognize the new sensor and clear the E9304 code.
