Massey Ferguson M02 – Mid Mount Valve Module: Loader Mid Mount Electro Valve Solenoid Low Amp Draw

A "Low Amp Draw" indicates that the control module is detecting less electrical current than expected when trying to energize the solenoid. This typically points to high electrical resistance, an open circuit, a broken wire, a corroded connector, or a burned-out solenoid coil.

   Locate the mid-mount electro-hydraulic valve block and inspect the wiring harness leading to the solenoids for chafing, pinched wires, or rodent damage.

   Disconnect the harness from the affected solenoid and check for water ingress, dirt, or green corrosion on the pins.

   Using a digital multimeter set to Ohms (Ω), measure the resistance across the two pins of the solenoid coil. An open circuit (infinite resistance/OL) or abnormally high resistance confirms the solenoid coil has failed internally.

   If the coil tests within normal limits, test the continuity of the wiring harness from the solenoid connector back to the Mid Mount Valve Module to rule out a broken wire.

   Safety First

   Lower the loader to the ground, turn off the tractor, and relieve all hydraulic pressure by moving the joystick in all directions.

   Disconnect

   Unplug the electrical connector from the faulty mid-mount valve solenoid.

   Remove Coil

   Remove the retaining nut or cap at the end of the valve stem holding the solenoid coil in place.

   Swap

   Slide the faulty solenoid coil off the hydraulic valve cartridge tube. (Note: You usually do not need to open the hydraulic system or remove the valve cartridge itself, so no fluid should leak).

   Install

   Slide the new replacement solenoid coil over the valve stem.

   Secure

   Reinstall and tighten the retaining nut. Do not overtighten, as this can crack the plastic coil housing.

   Reconnect

   Plug the electrical connector back in. Ensure the weather seal clicks into place.

   Clear Codes

   Turn the key on. The code may move to an "inactive" state automatically, or you may need to clear the DTCs using a compatible Massey Ferguson diagnostic tool. Test the loader joystick to confirm proper operation.
