Massey Ferguson M05 – Main ECU/Dash: Loader Mid Mount Electro Valve Solenoid Low Amp Draw

The system is detecting that the electrical current (amperage) flowing through the loader's mid-mount valve solenoid is below the minimum expected threshold. This condition almost always indicates an open circuit, which can be caused by a disconnected plug, a broken or chafed wire, corroded connector pins, or an internally failed (burnt-out) solenoid coil.

   Visual Inspection: Inspect the wiring harness leading from the tractor chassis to the mid-mount valve block (usually located on the right side under the cab or on the loader subframe). Look for pinched wires, chafing, or physical damage from debris.

   Connector Check: Disconnect the electrical plug at the affected mid-mount valve solenoid. Check for moisture, dirt, or green corrosion on the pins. Ensure the terminals have good tension.

   Coil Resistance Test: Using a digital multimeter, measure the resistance (Ohms) across the two pins of the solenoid coil. If the multimeter reads "OL" (Open Loop) or infinite resistance, the internal coil winding is broken and the solenoid must be replaced.

   Voltage Supply Test: With the key on, probe the harness side of the connector while a helper actuates the loader joystick. If you receive proper voltage, the wiring and module are fine, confirming the solenoid is the culprit.

   Park the tractor on a level surface, lower the loader to the ground, turn off the engine, and disconnect the negative battery cable.

   Relieve any residual hydraulic pressure by moving the loader joystick in all directions.

   Locate the mid-mount electro-hydraulic valve block.

   Disconnect the electrical wiring harness plug from the faulty solenoid.

   Remove the retaining nut or cap at the end of the valve stem that secures the solenoid coil in place.

   Slide the old solenoid coil off the valve cartridge stem.

   Note: Replacing the electromagnetic coil does not require opening the hydraulic fluid circuit, so no fluid should leak.

   Clean the valve stem of any dirt or debris.

   Slide the new solenoid coil onto the stem and secure it with the retaining nut.

   Do not overtighten, as this can crack the plastic coil housing.

   Reconnect the electrical harness plug until it clicks securely.

    Reconnect the battery, start the tractor, and test the loader functions to ensure smooth operation and verify that the M05 code has cleared.
