Massey Ferguson M11 – Mid Mount Valve Module: Loader Mid Mount Electro Valve Solenoid Low Amp Draw

The control module is detecting less electrical current (amperage) than expected on the circuit that operates the loader's mid-mount electro-hydraulic valve solenoid, typically pointing to an open circuit caused by a broken wire, a disconnected or corroded connector, or a burned-out solenoid coil.

   Inspect the wiring harness running from the Mid Mount Valve Module to the loader valve block for chafed wires, pinch points, or disconnected plugs.

   Disconnect the harness at the affected mid-mount valve solenoid and check for water ingress, dirt, or corroded/pushed-back pins.

   Measure the resistance across the two pins of the solenoid coil using a multimeter. A reading of 'OL' (Open Loop) or excessively high resistance indicates a broken internal coil winding.

   Check the continuity of the power and ground wires from the solenoid connector back to the Mid Mount Valve Module to rule out a broken wire.

   Power Down

   Turn off the tractor, remove the key, and disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent short circuits.

   Locate the Valve

   Locate the mid-mount electro-hydraulic valve block (typically mounted under the right-hand side of the cab or near the loader mounting brackets).

   Disconnect

   Unplug the electrical connector from the faulty solenoid.

   Remove the Solenoid

   Remove the retaining nut or clip at the end of the valve stem. Slide the faulty solenoid coil off the valve cartridge. (Note: You usually do not need to open the hydraulic system or remove the valve cartridge to replace the coil, so no fluid should be lost).

   Install the New Part

   Slide the new solenoid coil onto the stem and secure it with the retaining nut/clip. Do not overtighten, as this can crack the plastic casing.

   Reconnect

   Plug the electrical connector back in, ensuring it clicks and locks into place.

   Test

   Reconnect the battery, start the tractor, and operate the loader joystick to verify functionality. The code may self-clear, or it may need to be cleared using a compatible Massey Ferguson diagnostic tool.
