Massey Ferguson M15 – Mid Mount Valve Module: Loader Mid Mount Electro Valve Solenoid High Amp Draw

The onboard diagnostic system has detected that the electrical current (amperage) being pulled by the solenoid on the loader's mid-mount valve exceeds the normal operating limits.

   Inspect the wiring harness and connector at the mid-mount electro valve for corrosion, moisture, or loose pins, which can cause resistance and spike the amp draw.

   Ensure the tractor's battery and charging system are functioning properly, as low voltage can sometimes force electrical components to draw higher amperage to compensate.

   Use a multimeter with an amp clamp to measure the actual current being drawn by the solenoid when the loader joystick is actuated, and compare this reading to the manufacturer's specified normal amp range.

   Disconnect the solenoid from the valve block to isolate it. If the amp draw remains high or the solenoid gets excessively hot, the internal coil is likely shorted and the solenoid is faulty.

   Relieve hydraulic pressure

   Turn off the tractor and relieve all hydraulic pressure from the loader system.

   Locate valve block

   Locate the Mid Mount Valve block (usually located under the right side of the cab or near the loader mast mounts).

   Disconnect harness

   Disconnect the electrical harness connector from the affected electro valve solenoid.

   Remove retaining nut

   Remove the retaining nut or cap at the end of the valve stem.

   Remove faulty coil

   Slide the faulty solenoid coil off the valve cartridge.

   Install new coil

   Slide the new solenoid coil onto the stem and secure it with the retaining nut.

   Reconnect harness

   Reconnect the electrical harness.

   Clear DTC and test

   Clear the M15 DTC using a compatible diagnostic tool and test the loader functions to ensure the code does not return.
