   Locate the X39 Trailer brake safety solenoid valve on the transmission hydraulic block and visually inspect the wiring harness and connector for corrosion, moisture ingress, or chafed wires.

   Disconnect the solenoid and use a multimeter to measure the resistance across the coil pins, comparing it to OEM specs to check for a coil breaking down under load.

   Turn the key ON and probe the harness side to ensure the TRANS1 module is sending the correct reference voltage and ground to the solenoid.

   Remove the solenoid coil and check if the valve spool itself is sticking due to contaminated hydraulic fluid or debris.

   Park the tractor on a level surface, turn off the engine, engage the parking brake, and chock the wheels.

   Relieve all hydraulic pressure from the tractor and trailer brake circuits by pumping the brake pedals with the engine off.
