Massey Ferguson R41 – HITCH controller: Issue With Signal From Rear Hitch Top Link Draft Pin (HITCH)
Issue description
The electronic draft control (EDC) system is receiving an incorrect, missing, or "saturated" (out of bounds) electrical signal from the draft sensor pin.

Check the cause
Inspect the draft sensor pin (located at the rear linkage/top link or lower links) and its wiring protection guard for physical damage.
Trace the wiring from the sensor to the linkage controller. Look for open circuits, short circuits, or pinched wires, which are the primary causes of a saturation code.
Using a multimeter or dealer diagnostic software (like Wintest), verify the voltage/resistance of the sensor. The signal should change smoothly as mechanical pressure is applied to the pin. If the voltage is stuck at 0V or max voltage regardless of load, the sensor is internally shorted or failed.
Repair steps
Relieve Pressure
Lower the hydraulic lift arms completely to the ground to remove all mechanical tension and hydraulic pressure from the linkage.
Disconnect
Locate the load sensing pin connectors (usually accessed from the rear of the tractor, sometimes routed near the top of the hydraulic lift cover) and disconnect them.
Remove Guards
Remove the wiring protection guard covering the draft pin.
Extract the Pin
Remove the locking screws or retaining hardware securing the draft sensor pin, then slide the pin out of the linkage assembly.
Install New Sensor
Insert the replacement draft sensor pin, secure it with the locking hardware, and reattach the wiring protection guard.
Reconnect & Calibrate
Reconnect the wiring harness. You must perform an EHR (Electronic Hitch Control) draft sensor calibration using the tractor's onboard terminal or dealer software so the controller learns the zero-load baseline of the new sensor.
