Massey Ferguson T4151 – TRANS: Transmission Oil Temperature High DYNA VT (TRANS)

Triggered when the transmission hydraulic oil temperature sensor (X19 sensor) detects that the transmission oil temperature has exceeded 95°C (203°F).

   Check transmission oil level via the sight glass or dipstick, as low fluid levels are a primary cause of overheating.

   Inspect transmission oil quality for severe degradation, a burnt smell, or heavy pollution.

   Check for filter blockages by verifying if the tractor is simultaneously throwing filter blockage codes (such as T4150 or T4156 for the X20 filter blockage switch).

   Test the X19 transmission temperature sensor by inspecting the wiring harness and connector for shorts to ground or voltage, which can cause false high-temperature readings.

   Top Up Fluid

   If the diagnostic checks reveal low transmission fluid, top it up to the correct specification and test the machine under load to see if the code clears.

   Service the Transmission

   If oil/filters are degraded, drain the transmission hydraulic oil, remove and replace the transmission hydraulic oil filter(s), and refill the system with OEM-approved transmission fluid (e.g., AGCO V-TRANS PLUS).

   Replace the X19 Sensor

   If faulty, locate the X19 transmission temperature sensor on the transmission casing, disconnect the electrical harness, unthread the old sensor (have a catch pan ready for minor fluid loss), install the new sensor and torque to OEM specifications, and reconnect the harness.

   Clear Codes

   Use a diagnostic tool to clear the T4151 code from the TRANS module and test drive the tractor to ensure the temperature remains within the normal operating range (below 95°C).
