Massey Ferguson T4193 – Transmission Control Module (TCU): Issue With Signal Voltage From Right Brake Pedal Sensor DYNA VT (TRANS)

The potentiometer (sensor) on the right brake pedal is sending a voltage signal that is outside of its normal operating range, is short-circuited to the earth/ground, or has lost communication with the controller.

   Inspect the wiring harness and the connector at the right brake pedal sensor (Component X67) for physical damage, corrosion, or loose pins

   Use a multimeter to check the signal voltage coming from the right brake pedal potentiometer and verify that the reference voltage is not short-circuited to ground

   Test the continuity of the wiring between the brake pedal sensor and the Transmission Control Module (TCU) to ensure there is no break in the data transfer line

   Ensure there are no broader CAN network interruptions, as this code can sometimes be triggered alongside CAN communication faults (like T41A2) if the harness is damaged

   Power Down

   Turn off the tractor and disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent electrical shorts during repair.

   Locate the Sensor

   Locate the right brake pedal sensor (potentiometer X67) situated on the brake pedal linkage assembly inside the cab.

   Disconnect

   Carefully unplug the electrical harness connector from the sensor.

   Remove

   Unbolt the mounting hardware securing the sensor to the pedal bracket and remove the faulty sensor.

   Install

   Mount the new OEM brake pedal sensor in the exact orientation as the old one and tighten the mounting hardware to the torque specifications outlined in the workshop manual.

   Reconnect

   Plug the electrical harness back into the new sensor.

   Recalibrate

   Reconnect the battery. Use a Massey Ferguson diagnostic tool (EDT) to clear the T4193 fault code. You may need to perform a pedal calibration routine so the Transmission Control Module learns the new sensor's zero and full-stroke voltage values.
