Check the cause
Check transmission/hydraulic oil level using the sight glass or dipstick on a level surface, as low fluid can cause erratic temperature readings.
Inspect the wiring harness and electrical connector at the transmission oil temperature sensor (X19) for broken wires, corrosion, or loose pins.
Test the sensor with a digital multimeter to ensure resistance changes smoothly with temperature and check for a dead short to ground or an open circuit.
Verify the reference voltage coming from the TRANS controller to the sensor harness to rule out a broken wire in the main harness.
Repair steps
Preparation
Park the tractor on level ground, lower the linkage/implements, turn off the engine, and allow the transmission fluid to cool.
Locate the Sensor
Find the transmission oil temperature sensor (X19) on the transmission housing or hydraulic valve block.
Disconnect
Unplug the electrical connector from the sensor.
Removal
Place a clean drain pan under the sensor area to catch any escaping transmission fluid. Unscrew the faulty sensor from the housing.
Installation
Thread the new temperature sensor into the housing. Ensure any required O-rings or sealing washers are in place to prevent leaks (many of these sensors use an M14 x 1.5 thread). Tighten to the manufacturer's torque specification.
Reconnection
Reconnect the electrical harness to the new sensor.
Fluid Check
Check the transmission fluid level and top up with the manufacturer-recommended fluid (e.g., AGCO Parts Transmission Oil) to replace any fluid lost during the swap.
Clear Codes & Test
Use a compatible diagnostic tool (such as Jaltest AGV) to clear the T41B7 fault code from the TRANS module. Start the tractor and perform a test drive, ensuring the transmission shifts smoothly and the code does not return.
