Massey Ferguson T41D5 – Transmission Control Module (TCM) / Autotronic 4 or Autotronic 5: Calibration error

Indicates that the transmission control system has either failed to complete a calibration routine successfully, received sensor values out of tolerance during calibration, or has lost its stored calibration parameters.

   Verify that the transmission oil is at the correct level (between nominal and maximum).

   Ensure the transmission oil is up to normal operating temperature before attempting calibration.

   Check the battery and alternator output for stable voltage (drops below 11V or spikes above 16V can cause failures).

   Look for accompanying active CAN bus errors (e.g., T41B0) or specific sensor/solenoid faults (e.g., T41A3, T41E0) that would prevent calibration.

   Warm up transmission

   Start the tractor and ensure the transmission is at operating temperature.

   Set engine speed

   Set and keep the engine speed strictly at 1500 RPM (± 100 RPM).

   Set shuttle lever

   Keep the PowerControl (forward/reverse shuttle) lever in the forward position.

   Initiate calibration

   Initiate the calibration phase (this process is independent of the Power Shuttle sensitivity settings).

   Reflash or replace controller

   If the calibration repeatedly fails and throws T41D5, the Autotronic controller may have suffered an internal memory failure (RAM/EEPROM) or faulty programming, requiring the module to be reflashed or replaced.
