T41DC

Massey Ferguson T41DC – Transmission Control Unit (Autotronic 4 or Autotronic 5): Calibration error

Issue description

The transmission calibration process has failed, was interrupted, or the transmission controller has lost its calibration parameters.

Applies to these machines

  • Massey Ferguson 8600 Series
  • MF 8670
  • MF 8690

Check the cause

  1. Ensure the engine speed is set and maintained at exactly 1500 rpm ± 100

  2. Ensure the PowerControl lever is kept in the forward position

  3. Check for any other active transmission sensor faults (such as range position sensors or clutch solenoid faults) that might be preventing a successful calibration

Repair steps

  1. Warm up transmission fluid

Bring the tractor's transmission fluid up to normal operating temperature.

  2. Set engine RPM

Set the engine RPM to 1500 ± 100.

  3. Position PowerControl lever

Move the PowerControl lever to the forward position.

  4. Initiate calibration

Initiate the transmission calibration phase via the DOT MATRIX display on the instrument cluster or by using the AGCO WINTEST diagnostic software tool.

  5. Allow calibration cycle

Allow the Autotronic controller to cycle through the clutch fill and pressure calibrations.

  6. Contact dealer for reprogramming

If the calibration repeatedly fails and throws T41DC, the Autotronic controller may require a software re-flash or reprogramming by an authorized dealer using the AGCO diagnostic tool.

Parts you might need

(1)
  • Autotronic Transmission Controller (ECU)

Replacement is only necessary if the ECU has suffered an internal hardware failure.
